Calgary Herald 2/10/2011 - Calgary company launches online philanthropic database

CALGARY - Calgary-based Dexterity Ventures Inc. has launched Place2Give.com - a donor-centred online solution for philanthropic data collection, charity search, and streamlined donation processes.

Place2Give.com provides both donors and professional advisers (wealth managers, estate planners, lawyers) with a platform to research and donate to Canadian charities.

The Place2Give.com database gives donors the ability to search over 85,000 Canadian charities, match their user profiles to the charities that best align with their passions, and donate to their chosen charities online without logging out of their Place2Give.com account.

Gena Rotstein, chief executive and founder of Dexterity Ventures Inc. and Place2Give.com, said she has discovered in over 15 years of experience in the charitable sector that change was needed.

"By providing donors with multiple pieces of information on individual charities, we are empowering them to decide what is important for a charity to report on," she said. "We are moving the conversation beyond the cost of raising a dollar to really be about what donors want to hear and see. I believe that Place2Give.com will ultimately provide a more transparent source of information and data that donors can trust and use to make better donation decisions."

Dexterity Ventures Inc. operates Dexterity Consulting, Canada's first philanthropic brokerage firm, and Place2Give.com. Launched in 2008, Dexterity Consulting has facilitated over $3 million in charitable transactions working with donors, their advisers, and charities across Canada.
